How to replace a battery in GBA Pokemon game by your friendly neighbourhood Obsidian :3
Step 1
Gather the required materials:
Step 2
Remove the screw from the back of the cartridge with a tri-wing screwdriver:
Step 3
Gently open the cartridge by sliding the front down and then lifting it up:
Step 4
Gently pry the top 'prong' from the top of the battery with a small flathead screwdriver:
Step 5
Bend the bottom 'prong' upright and repeat step 4 to remove it from the bottom of the battery:
Step 6
Grab your new battery and remove it from the packet (old one can be disposed of now):
Step 7
Cut a small length of electrical tape (colour doesn't matter, but make sure it is indeed electrical tape. Other tapes can leave a sticky residue):
Step 8
The width of the tape may need to be trimmed to fit:
Step 9
Slide the tape UNDERNEATH the bottom prong and then set the new battery on top (negative side up):
Step 10
Bend the top prong back down over the top of the battery:
Step 11
Wrap the tape around to cover the top and press down firmly to ensure it sticks to the top prong and battery (the battery may still feel a little bit loose, but that's ok, the cartridge will hold it in place):
Step 12
Set the front of the cartridge into the little slots and slide it up to put it back on (reverse of how you removed it. It may seem a little bit tight because of the tape, but it will close):
Step 13
Screw the screw back into the back of the cartridge to keep it from opening:
Step 14
Pop into your GBA to test:
